You don’t have to live in fear anymore.
Emetophobia has a tricky way of creeping into every corner of your life. It consumes your time, drains your energy, and adds fear to everyday situations that most people take for granted. I know what it’s like— the constant planning, avoidance of different foods, isolation from others… the list goes on.
Recovery from emetophobia is possible, and I’m here to help you get there.

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn!
If you’ve stumbled across this page, you’re likely someone who is experiencing emetophobia. Let me tell you, I’ve been there.
I’m a licensed psychotherapist in California who specializes in the treatment of emetophobia. My passion for helping those with emetophobia comes from my own personal journey with this phobia. As a child, I developed a deep fear of vomiting that followed me through adolescence and into early adulthood. With the support of mental health professionals, I learned how to challenge my fears, build resilience, and embrace uncertainty.
When I became a therapist, I quickly realized how little awareness and treatment existed for emetophobia, despite how many people struggle with it. This fueled my commitment to providing specialized care for those feeling trapped by this fear.
I truly understand how isolating and overwhelming emetophobia can be—but I also know that recovery is possible. You don’t have to live in constant fear. You can learn to tolerate discomfort, loosen anxiety’s grip, and regain a sense of freedom. And through every step of that journey, I’ll be here to support you

Emetophobia is often misunderstood, and effective treatment can be hard to find. I specialize in using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—proven approaches that help reduce anxiety, build tolerance for discomfort, and create lasting change. Through our work together, you will:
Understand Your Fear – Learn what drives emetophobia and how it affects your thoughts and behaviors.
Develop Healthy Coping Strategies – Challenge avoidance and safety behaviors that reinforce anxiety.
Build Tolerance for Uncertainty – Gain confidence in facing the unknown and letting go of rigid control.
Reclaim Your Life – Step out of fear’s shadow and start engaging in life with freedom and ease.
My Collaborative Approach to Treatment
-

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP involves slowly exposing you to uncomfortable stimuli in order to build tolerance to discomfort and regain control of your fears.
-

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Through present awareness and connection to values, we learn to live a fulfilling, meaningful life— even with the presence of fear.
-

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. With CBT skills, we learn how to challenge and balance our anxious thoughts.
